School librarians are licensed teachers, often with advanced degrees, who teach students how to access, process, and share information from many and varied sources. Bookshelves can’t do that, Stewart.

The library without a librarian is neither curated nor fully resourced. It is just a room.

As a young science teacher, I leaned toward Bill Nye and Magic School Bus.

Only if you have four to eight fucking hours to spend waiting IN PERSON at the Social Security office (assuming you have one that’s locally convenient) and a lot of damn documents to prove your identity. Otherwise no.

Two things I made today: a very tiny suspended treehouse for my potted plant! And a loaf of potato-dill bread!
(I also managed some writing this morning, because I did that first!)

Also young teens (13-16, stories that don’t have a lot of drinking or house parties or driving all over creation as a plot device)
