Had no idea cynodonts survived for that long. Thought they were all wiped out once true mammals came along. Guess you learn something new everyday, eh?

REALLY like this guy's design. Just reminiscent enough to appear feline but distinct enough to clearly be its own thing. Kinda like a gracile wolverine, which I adore!

Diplodocus, a long-necked, long-tailed herbivorous dinosaur, shown ambling across a sandy plain. A portrait to the upper right shows an alternative reconstruction of its head, giving it a short elephant-like trunk unlike the simpler, classic reptilian look of the main illustration

If you’re having a bad day, just remember that John Sibbick’s trunked Diplodocus is out there somewhere, and he believes in you.

How Big? Dinosaurs A β€œlifesize” book by Dougal Dixon.

Here’s a decent-looking book that unfortunately includes a lot of copied art, including some by @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social, @meganjacobspalaeo.bsky.social, @lacerdajulio.bsky.social, and others.

At least this novel was done by someone confident and knew what they were doing. JW Afterbirth just said, "Oh dinosaurs are soo boring, lets kill them off and force people to go to Isla Nublar numerous 17! Yeah, that'll make us money!"

Illustration of a kakapo - a large, moss-green flightless parrot with an owl-like face - sitting on a person's arm with just the arm visible. It has a circular framing depicting little scribbles of ferns and conifer branches. Behind it is a light brown background with pale lineart of mossy tree trunks and branches of New Zealand's forests.

Sad news: the kakapo population is down to 237 after a female bird called Solstice died of an infection.

According to the Kakapo Recovery Facebook page, she had
β€’ 8 clutches
β€’ 24 eggs laid
β€’ 13 fertile eggs
β€’ 6 chicks hatched
β€’ 4 living offspring
β€’ 27 descendants

Well, if you ever need ideas or insight into concepts, I'd be more than willing to lend a hand if you need one. Spec Evos need to stick together, eh?
