๐ค
Termed "Haptotaxis", this effect is ubiquitous in cell migration, but it's mechanism was poorly understood

Happy to share that my PhD has finally taken the shape of a paper! โจ
Huge thanks to all authors, especially @davidbrueckner.bsky.social & @ehannezo.bsky.social for leading the modeling and @raimonsunyer.bsky.social & @xaviertrepat.bsky.social for their invaluable supervision.

Cao and colleagues found that the depleted heart tissue regenerates itself in a wave, led by a front of fast-moving, supersized cells and trailed by smaller cells that multiply to produce others. The image above shows the large cells that contain multiple nuclei per cell (magenta). These cells are under more mechanical tension (aqua streaks) than trailing cells, which divide to produce cells with one nucleus each.

Is endothelium a type of epithelium?
I am @icfortunato.bsky.social & I would like to discuss this with a short๐งต focused on cell-cell junctions, specifically adherens junctions.
