New requirements for digital imprints in online campaign material were rolled out in the 2024 general election. We review the guidance and recommend how to improve transparency requirements.

Using a mixed methods approach, our analysis finds mixed evidence of a 'rural disadvantage' in campaign contact. Our findings suggest that while campaigners perceive there to be greater challenges when campaigning in a rural constituency, in practice the picture is more nuanced.
