Liking so I can come back and check reccos! Definitely not new but I recently started Pushing Ice by Alastair Reynolds. So far so good.

Silent. Yoga. Calm.

Someone local bought some of my art and I took a short but enjoyable walk through the village to hand deliver it.

I feel moved and energised by this simple transaction, a welcome respite from spinning out about the state of everything else.

The Zones of Thought setting is something I've thought about off and on for years since reading it. The notion of Earth being stuck in the Slow Zone is, for me, a fictional concept that oddly helps me make sense of the actual world.

I really enjoyed the next book, 'Deepness in the Sky', too.

Enjoyed sketching with this water soluble brush pen last night while watching that new fan-made version of Alien 3.

A while back a scientist friend hired me to draw some illustrations for his PhD. Just came across an alternate version of one of them - this is the Leeds University Parkinson Building. I worked a temp admin job here long ago and would sit on the big steps to have lunch.

Ah, sorry to hear it John. Do you get it particularly bad?

I get it in my left ear. The only thing I can do is find things to take my mind off it, so I have music or ambient bg sounds playing constantly. Does the trick - until I go to bed!
