Yes, you’re probably right. I can see someone casually believing some of the GC nonsense out of ignorance, but it surely can’t be possible to get to the stage of being a full blooded activist without it being a mask off moment. And I suppose there’s probably is strong evidence of this:

To the first question, for many reasons. To the second, because they’ve bought into a highly funded anti trans movement that is stirring up transphobia to distract from the real problems (ie wealth inequality). There’s no evidence that trans women on GAH retain an advantage over cis women.

Fantastic. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the use of think tanks, how transparent their funding is, and how much access they have in Whitehall. An actual left wing government would have identified this and news media regulation as two of the biggest most urgent problems in “the system”.

And where do trans people fit in that picture for you? There’s no conspiracy here. Just trans people, a highly targeted minority, who want to have the right to participate in sports with their peers.

You keep ignoring the whole gender affirming hormones part of things as well as generally misrepresenting what trans people want and who they are. Have you tried having conversations with trans people?

I’ve told you some of the reasons I disagree and you haven’t actually countered any of them. You’ve just restated what you wish to be true as if it were a fact.

All you’re really saying is that you refuse to accept trans women as women, therefore blanket exclusion.

And to think that if he’d just kept himself out of the limelight the entire world may not have realised he was actually a simpleton.

Then it’s a weak case. The case for inclusion is:
Trans women live in society as women.
Trans women do not automatically have a biological advantage over cis women.
Exclusion should be by exception and only where it is absolutely necessary.
Sport should be inclusive and fun.

You’re refusing to acknowledge that trans women do not automatically have an advantage over cis women in any sport.

People participate in sport (competitive or otherwise) for many reasons. For a sense of community, belonging, companionship, challenge, fitness, and - heaven forbid - for fun. But even your crude “purpose” doesn’t make a convincing argument for why all trans women should be banned from women’s sport

Sport has many purposes (especially at amateur/grassroots level), so your initial statement is simply not true. Physical sex characteristics are complicated and non binary at the best of times, even more so when you consider the impact of medical transition.

And here I was thinking women’s sport was for ALL women. I didn’t realise there was an excellence criteria.

Compare cis men and cis women, sure. Physical performance is generally better on average amongst men. “On average” and “generally” being the key words. Again, why a BLANKET exclusion?

Because there’s no evidence that trans women retain an advantage if they are taking oestrogen for one thing (reasonable evidence to the contrary). And even aside from that it’s not as simple as “male always better than female”. Hence the problem is the BLANKET exclusion. It’s simplistic and cruel.

As far as I’m concerned this kind of behaviour from a government can’t be glossed over with anything else. You can’t make up for dehumanising some people by being a little nicer to others.

As have I. And nothing so far has happened except the UK has become a considerably worse place for trans people than it even was under the Tories at their worst. That plus the continued negative focus on immigrants and ludicrous over policing of protestors is not something I’m ok with.

Try listening to trans people and their families. Then come back and tell me that Labour haven’t failed them. It’s not just the Supreme Court decision (which they could legislate to correct in five minutes if they wanted to).

In which particular way have they not rolled back trans rights?
