BC craft beer isn't just about great brews; it brings people together, boosts tourism, and gives back to local communities.

Sip local, support local!

STAND UP FOR CANADA. STAND UP FOR LOCAL CRAFT BEER.
The future of Canadian craft beer is on the ballot.
1,200 breweries. 15K+ jobs. $1.7B to our economy.
But small brewers face outdated taxes & rising costs that threaten their survival.
We need fair policies and tax reform. We need your voice.

The US gets 60% of the aluminum it uses from Canada

What % of aluminum cans Canadian manufacturers use come from the US? I dunno, but I bet it's way over 60%

Luckily, in BC we have access to Chinese cans, but they cost a lot to ship overland. This is going to suck for a lot of Canadian brewers.

The thing is, if they supported BC businesses, they might make the BC government more money, through payroll taxes and other knock-on economic effects. But to be fair, we can't ask BCL to make those calculations in their decisions, they have their mandate.

We COULD change their mandate, though...

Some beer business stuff:

BC Liquor's mandate is to make as much money as possible for the BC government.

The BC government might want to support local business, but that's not in BCL's brief. If they promote BC craft beer or BC wine, it's to make money.

This isn't a criticism, it's just reality.

This is a pivotal moment to strengthen our industry, grow our local economy, and protect it from future threats. Supporting 100% BC craft beer is a direct investment in our communities, our jobs, and our future.

We need both government and consumers to champion BC-made products by prioritizing them in private and government liquor stores, as well as on menus at bars and restaurants.

Choosing BC craft beer isn’t just about great taste; it’s about backing a thriving industry that employs over 4,500 people and keeps 100% of its revenue within the province.

With the threat of tariffs looming for the next four years, it’s more important than ever for British Columbiansβ€”and all Canadiansβ€”to support independent, locally owned businesses.
