But I think you already know that drive-by online dooming isn't a strategy. It's selfish and adolescent. It's a contagion that only spreads the worst of you, not the best.

My in-laws are artists who treat “Christmas tree” as a deconstructivist activity.

I spent the day convincing my FIL and BIL that their lives would be materially better if they got over their hang ups and bought minivans. One was bemoaning that a pickup gets terrible gas mileage to deliver paintings, and the other spent 45 minutes packing his 3 kids and Christmas into a Subaru.

Maybe we should ban A&M while we are at it.

I talked with one student about the June Sucker, an endangered fish that lives only in Utah Lake; it has no sport or food value, but UDOT and others spend lots of money planning around it and mitigating its habitat. I often hear people complain about the futility and expense of these efforts. 4/5
