For those keeping score at home, since 1980 we have seen a consecutive 5-day window drop in Dow Jones with a probability of 1.7%. Also 12% of those instances happened under Trump. The market is not the economy of course by itself, but since we have heard the "all time high" argument a lot...

An interesting dynamic here. This move aligns at face value with the move towards the β€œfederalism” that Trump has been touting. States taking responsibilities for a number of things. However, the admin will now not have control of what this research is about for example. Another thing is [1/2]

Everything is fine. It just seems that we should not use any of the data from this admin. Flashback and PTSD from Greece in the late 90s cooking the books to get into the Euro zone.

It is amazing to me that both trade deal with Japan and EU have not be scrutinized more. The administration touts the investments both are bringing to the US as part of the deals BUT these are *pledges* and they also can overlap with previous commitments. If I had to guess I’d put the actual

This upcoming semester I am teaching for first time a course on Applied Bayesian Analysis that I developed for the Master's in Data Science at Pitt. Bayesianism is something that I think we all should subscribe too! Here is a hype video (πŸ˜‚)

Variance is also higher; small sample size (181 4-point shots only) and the data were collected from bits and pieces from articles (so quality might be a bit Q) but it'll be interesting to see how teams adjust in following seasons or if other pro leagues introduce the line [2/2]

I looked for some data on the 4-point line at PBA that was tried out last season. Using bootstrap here are the expected points per 100 shots for each type. You get on average almost +1 point per 100 shots from the 4-point line but this is not statistically significant [1/2]

The most mind boggling thing ab our timeline is that I truly believe that we're living in 2 (or 3) parallel worlds. Two big groups of ppl believe completely different things about the same event, topic etc. And most probably are also wrong (hence, the 3rd - true - "world")...

Oh it is very doable. Attach a smart contract on each digital piece of data and every time this "data point" is being used for training, testing or evaluating you get paid a pre-determined amount (even on a token, since this admin is so into this)

After Paige Bueckers had another good game yesterday, she now has four games where she added at least +7 net points to her team's scoring margin. That's as many as Caitlin Clark had through her whole rookie year.

It wasn't her best offensively, but good both ends.
