DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online.
The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery.
While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material.

Erhielt an Uni 1 recht viele Nachteilsausgleiche. Uni 2: null, nix, nada. Ergebnis: alles unklar, Studis verlieren so viel!

It absolutely makes sense that men are using AI more and seeing more job benefits, because confidently spouting nonsense in the shape of information (what LLMs are programmed to do) has always been much more of a pathway for career advancement for men than for others.

I was not aware that 1) there is a demon of typos called Titivillus or that 2) typos are held against scribes in heaven. Truly thought this was a drawing of me resisting the urge to send reels (I’m old) to my besties instead of writing that book review. medievalstudies.princeton.edu/event/the-de...

The other day I drew a subway-style map for The Hobbit, and it was very well received. Some of you asked if I could do one for LoTR, so I have!

Forgive the eel watermark; I'm working on making these something you can buy, if you like.

If this is accurate, WeTransfer is unusable for professional creative work. Would violate most work-for-hire contracts to share copyrighted material with a third party like this.

"1) Your job won’t love you back. Ever.

'The first author was a woman. Increasing numbers of studies show, in many different guises, just how potent such bias can...

So-called objective metrics in academia disadvantage women. Letters of reference for women tend to have less stand-out adjectives. Women's papers are cited less, their grants are smaller on avg & their papers have a harder time getting past reviewers.

While so many of my fellow medievalists gather at #IMC2025, I headed to Paulinzella, maybe the largest romanesque ruins in Thuringia. It was founded in the 12th century as a double monastery by noblewoman Paulina who travelled to Santiago de C. & Rome (twice), and died by falling from a horse...
