I’ve not seen any reporting on this. How many of those arrested over the past few weeks have actually been charged?

Do you know how the people who have been arrested (previously and yesterday) have been dealt with e.g. charged, released on police bail etc.? Can’t find much reporting about this.

Surely the equivalent of BSB has to look into the conduct of the USG’s lawyers?

The WGA covers a multitude of sins. Is this primarily a local authority problem?

If we want to ensure the rule of law is respected, how about adopting a policy that the likelihood of a challenge being successful must be medium low (less than 50%) or lower (cf the standard for making a section 19 HRA statement)?

Thanks for the discussion. My worry is that the democratic process isn’t working and what can we do to avoid the massive impacts of say 2 degrees? It’s a genuine question to everyone. That’s why I’m sympathetic to these protesters. At least they are doing something to raise the issue.

So you agree with the tactic of civil disobedience but just want it to be more honestly carried out?

Have you engaged with any of the theories of changed advocated by Hallam and co? They are interesting and pissing off people (and I’m not convinced the overwhelming majority are) ain’t that important.

No, not really helpful. How would you suggest we protest / secure meaningful action that will prevent 2 degrees let alone more?
