Unless we stay put and lock the world out, we will all have multiple lives. 30 is still very early in life these days. I didn't have a family until my late 40s, for example. And now, in my mid-50s, I'm about to start on a whole new avenue of work! We continue to grow and learn (and maybe forget).

Small Language Model.

(Yes, I know these are already a real thing. Don't make me tap the sign.)

No, you didn't. If an EV is charging, you can't unplug it.

Tesla has built a few rich people’s toys and failed to drive positive change as a government adviser. Tesla amplified the growth of EVs but others now make more snd better cars.

My friend. Never export an SVG or PDF from Figma using the built in export tools. They are terrible. Instead seek you a plugin.

AI is here to stay. There will be a β€˜correction’ but the Internet survived the first dot com collapse.

Using ebikes in cities is great for the majority who are mobile and don't have children. As soon as you get children, shared bikes/scooters are useless. And for those less mobile, then bikes are not an option. I'd like to see a proper shared small car scheme with automation setup.

Hybrid cars are a stop gap to full electrification. They cost more to make, have worse electric only range and still require petrol ( expensive compared to electricity). They are the worst of two worlds.

We are moving towards EVs one way or the other. When is being changes by the actions of those with vested interests, mostly oil organisations throwing fear and doubt out there to slow things down.

China has had self-driving taxis for years, and Wayve have self-driving cars on the UK streets already (being trialled). Volvo and others are years ahead in electric big rigs and others rule in terms of storage and robots. Tesla still has good car sales, but not for long.

It depends on where in the UK you are. In more affluent parts, the ratio of EVs to Petrol cars is 1 in 4 or higher. New Automotive also has Pure EV and Petrol sales neck and neck. Not sure if you really think they'll never happen but... newautomotive.org/ecc

I've got a 13 Pro and it's going strong. I don't quite see why I should spend a grand to get a slightly better camera and USB-C charging.

There needs to be a very good reason for me to upgrade.

You're much older than you look. First, you remember Blockbuster. And secondly, you're still using physical media.

From 2019 β€œSince mid-October, Charlie Kirk’s Culture War college tour has been increasingly haunted by the Groyper and nicker Groyper Q&A trolls. These offline trolls use the Q&A-sessions that are part of the Culture War show format to frame Charlie Kirk as a fake, 'anti-white' conservative.”

So many choices.

Also check out:

-Volvo (EX30)
-Renault (5)
-MG
-Skoda (and VW)
- Citreon
- Ford (Puma should be interesting)

Avoid Tesla and Toyota.

This chart is wild. Near vertical direction on solar capacity globally, led by China.

And as Ember notes in a new report today, that trend is accelerating with nearly 400GW new capacity in first 6 months of 2025.

UI is the implementation of a UX. You can do UX without doing UI. For example you can change the Information Architecture and deliver it asa spreadsheet and improve the UX. UI is a subset of UX and, in some ways, the easier bit.

There is a lot of hype around AI but it’s the same kind of shift as the internet. We had a dot com bubble around 2000 but the internet did not go away. Same with AI. Storming, norming and performing.

I've given up as I've got work to focus upon.

I will be reading more on ADHD so any useful links are appreciated.

I wish everyone well and understand this can be a difficult subject area for some.

I'm not arguing against medication.

Here's more information about what I'm discussing.

It depends on the time span you're talking about. Caffeine can create short-term focus in anyone (including those with ADHD) but then have a detrimental effect later. Energy drinks are that multiplied.

Meanwhile.

Okay.

Why is it wrong? Energy Drinks make the symptoms of ADHD worse in the long term but may offer a 'fix' in the short term. It's not a solution but a hack.

03.09.2025 13:36 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

And you understand how those stimulants may not always be the best solution in the long term?
