I really like how this mask perfectly captures Waldorf’s famous thousand-yard stare

Cool that I guess we’re going to hear what every single Republican thinks about Bad Bunny playing the Super Bowl

Sometimes there’s a single shot in a movie that makes you gasp out loud every time you see it, and one of them for me is this shot in Zodiac

That’s odd, I’ve been told that Starbucks has been overwhelmed with a global demand for his favorite drink that everyone knew even before he bit it.

I do not think it raises that question at all. Nobody in the world thinks it raises that question. But good for you, typing some content.

A lot of them are suddenly big fans of the “just comply and nothing will happen to you” argument

The latter is certainly possible, because I was in a G&T program as a kid, while barely being able to do simple math at the same time.

The number of people who claim they or their kids were G&T kind of suggests that either many of us are lying, or the standards aren’t as high as we like to think.

The title card from the end of ANIMAL HOUSE that says Neidermeyer was killed in Vietnam by his own troops. I always liked hearing the filmmakers talk about the sadness that underpinned ANIMAL HOUSE, and it's there, just below the surface. Sure, it's also a movie where a guy climbs a ladder to spy on a woman in her bedroom, and when she starts touching herself, the guy's presumable boner pushes the ladder away from the wall and causes him to fall to the ground. But hearing them talk about the parade, and how in their minds the very next day JFK gets shot; how this impossibly safe and privileged and blinkered world is about to get shredded out of existence for all time; how adulthood comes for you with a smack; it gives the goofiness a certain charm, the minor heft that comes with the love created by nostalgia, that sets it apart from its almost countless imitators. Even this title card is more than just a dark joke about just deserts. It's a hint at the indescribable horrors to come—horrors that only existed in the first place because of villains like this one.

Being able to repeatedly call Benicio del Toro “sensei” is privilege that I now covet.

One Battle After Another is terrific, very funny, and painfully relevant, and also Sean Penn looks like a human catcher’s mitt in it

One Battle After Another and Sinners both lay out a formula for cinema success: diverse movies where white nationalists get duffed in the most graphic way possible shot and presented in increasingly baroque high resolution formats.
