21.09.2025 11:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is like the city of Broken Hill - a town built on mine tailings or mine tailings dumped on a town. This is wine Jim, but not as we know it. A strange, not unpleasant diversion, somewhere between a Rose and a sherry with alcohol to help. Fortified or adjusted, old oak or concrete. Terroir? No.

Shelf talker for a Wayne Gretzky #wine in a Toronto LCBO describes it as "acrid and treasony."
"This mediocre Chardonnay reeks of betrayal. Expect hints of moral rot, fermented in the casks of vast wealth. Pairs with barbecued raccoon." Lay down with dogs and you get fleas. #Winesky #TheGreatOnce
Back to the future.....
07.03.2025 09:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The old argument. Wine is good because the vines are old etc. A great site produces good fruit year in, year out but that doesn't mean it's always great, rather than consistently good. I've seen plenty of clapped out old vineyards that well, never made the grade. Darwin abides!
