I think walking along this grassy track gives one of the loveliest views in Scotland. Do you recognise it? Do you have a favourite easy track for walking along and gazing into the distance?

i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

Един летен миг си открих.
Тая жаба живееше в Царево. Понеже си помислих "дано още живее", се зачудих колко продължава един жабешки живот.
Оказа се между 5 и 10 години.
И на мен не ми беше нужна тая информация 😂

Excited Explorer

Loki is a 12-year old husky, but a good long hike turns him into an excited little puppy again.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all who have supported me openly, or privately, while I’ve been suffering with my own wellbeing. Depression. Anxiety, Stress, can all take their toll, and indeed they have but you guys make me smile. Thank you, each and every one of you.

Anyway, here’s a pic

It says a lot about our country that the FBI had no interest in interviewing Brett Kavanaugh but wants to talk to Mark Kelly.

Hey Media: Stop calling Mark Kelly's video the "controversial video." There's nothing controversial about telling troops to follow laws. But there IS something controversial about Trump and his goons trying to KILL THEM for it. Write THAT story.

On the way to Hana, high above the pacific, we found this garden carved out of the dense rainforest.
There were incredible views everywhere the trees parted enough to let us get a glimpse of the ocean!
This is east Maui, the rainforest side.

Our friend the Spiculate Toad is covered with small pointy bumps also known as spicules, which is how they get their name! They live on the northern slopes of the Sierra de Juárez and the Sierra Mixe in Oaxaca, Mexico! (photo by Medardo Arreortua)

When we were occupied the days were long and hollow.
We rose with the gray light, tilled our fields beneath the watchtowers, and spoke softly so the wind could not carry the old prayers.
The festivals were forbidden—no fires on the hills, no songs for the rivers.
The druids’ stones were toppled, their names unspoken.
Even the land seemed to sleep beneath the weight of Roman law.

Praefectus called us to the green below the Great Oak.
The old, gnarled tree spread wide on the ridge—roots older than memory, branches thick with the wisdom of age.
Its bark still bore the ghost of the old runes, though the soldiers had scraped them once.
We gathered there, thin and silent, and the Roman mounted a stone, sword at his hip.

“People of the frontier,” he said, voice smooth as river clay,
“you live in the peace of Rome.
No hunger, no chaos, no fear.
The Empire shall endure forever, and your children will praise it as you do today.”

A few near the front nodded, murmuring “Yes, lord,” because such words were expected.
The rest only watched with hollow eyes.

Then the wind shifted—from the west, the direction of renewal, where the souls of the dead sail to rest.
It came as a whisper through the oak’s leaves, speaking a language older than Rome.
Out of that breath came a trembling of wings.

A flock of waxwings fluttered down—gold and gray, hundreds of them—filling the branches above him.
They plucked the acorns and passed them beak to beak, each taking one, each giving one, until the whole tree shimmered with motion and sharing.
Someone began to hum a forbidden refrain, softly at first, then joined by others—the song of the circle unbroken.

The Roman kept speaking, but his voice was only wind in the leaves.
Our eyes had turned upward, following the birds, knowing the sign:
the old ways were stirring, and the wheel was beginning to turn again.

Edge of a swamp covered in green duckweed. The shore has a bunch of Bald Cypress root knees popping up out of the soil, with the trunk on the left. Among the roots is a large gray heron, with its wings out to the side as it suns itself, making it awkwardly not bird shaped. I think it is sunning and not actively hunting at the moment, but the caption is funnier if you pretend it is actively trying to hide from fishes.

Welcome fishes, no predatory Great Blue Heron here, only Bald Cypress knees
