Love this film so much. Hilariously funny, but also unbearably poignant at times without ever sinking into cheesiness. Perfect bit of film making โค๏ธ

Back in the 80s, in a traffic jam in London, I asked the guy in the next car to us for directions. He was lovely and very helpful and I only realised as he smiled and rewound the window that it had been Anthony Hopkins.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

I can also 100% recommend this book. It's dark and hilarious and REEKS of the old world of fags, booze, pubs, jealousy over other people's fame, sudden fights, problematic trousers and rock'n'roll, whatever she is. A genuine classic.

When Ella Fitzgerald couldnโt get booked at the Mocambo Club because she was Black, Monroe (at the height of her own fame) called the owner and told him if he booked Ella, she would take a front table every night.
And she did.

Where land meets sea, something amazing happens in Namibia. Vast dune fields, ranging more than 60 km inland, end suddenly where the ocean begins. Standing on top of these dunes, which are more than 100 m tall, and taking in the view of endless mountains of sand bordering the ocean, is an unforgettable experience.
On a beautiful Namibian morning, I had the fortune of seeing up close a majestic Cheetah dressed in soft light. They have the most beautiful brown eyes! What a privilege to be so close to this amazing animal! โ
Life flourishes everywhere! In Namibia's beautiful Sossusvlei region, two lone trees live on the edge of a giant red dune which rises sharply above. In fact, one of the trees is buried in the dune's sand!
Namibia is not all desert, it's coast line has huge flamingo, pelican & seal populations. So many flamingos, it's difficult to isolate them, but the morning's fog helped, & created a magical mood!
Our photography tour in Namibia has come to an end! Namibia is a land of infinite splendor, and I can't wait to share the beautiful moments my participants and I captured. For now, a few images from our previous tours!
