I haven't read mausritter yet, but from a random screenshot I found online, the faction rules look to be about the right level of heft and seen to align with my goals of managing the forces acting upon the world.

Who can point me to some elegant rules for managing kingdoms in an #OSR #TTRPG? My main interests are:
1 - Rulers & their goals
2 - Political influence in the region
3 - Military influence (& units?)
I want to use the system to layer the goals of kingdoms as a backdrop to the party's adventure.
Awarding XP in Shadowdark is so simple, it's confusing. This video talks about that, but also explores character motivation and the courage required to become an adventurer.

They're actually little laser cut pressboard tiles. They were made by a little company in my area that has sadly gone out of business.
I love them and use them almost all of the time. In this game I'm just using them as "fog of war" to cover up this pre printed map of a dungeon.
