Awesome idea about doing a mix of both, hadn't considered that. I think I may try that, symbols for common things and text for attractions. Thanks!

Very good point about the mobile legibility.

Yes this means I am about to start labeling a new park plan and may have something to post in the next few weeks.

Quick informal poll.

For the labeling of my park plans, do you like the actual text on the plan (left example) or keynotes and a legend (right example)?

I think keynotes look cleaner but I'll admit it makes it more effort to read.

What do you prefer?

That Walt figure is so smooth and has some amazingly realistic movements. Looks like a real human if you just don't look at the face too hard. Amazing technology. The face is just like 5% off but I get it, it's a lot of mechanisms that have to fit in there. Can we have one in EPCOT?

Yeah absolutely it's in great shape for a long time! I just think it's interesting/fun to think about how things will evolve 20-30 years from now as the park grows and new needs arise. Replacing classics for the benefit of expansion has been on my mind lately for obvious reasons...

Love all of it! Great art and great ideas. Question now that you are done: did you think about removing or changing any other opening day attractions? Feels like you maximized the expansion pads but have to think they'll need to replace something in the far future to add new experiences to the park.

Love the ideas so far for this expansion plan for Epic Universe and where its going! The plan graphics are so clean as always too. Fun to see what will be next.

Genuinely no idea on this either. None of my posts get views or traction like they used to. Feels bad when months of effort dies quickly.

My take is most people only encounter the first post with the first image and then move on, so I try to get the best image up first.

Good info, makes sense about the tight space. Yeah I'd hope they could find a way to get some semblance of the experience even if they reduce the number of AAs. But maybe I'm too hopeful here..

It may not be quite the same since the details of the theater building and the land are so crucial to the experience, and who knows if they'd maintain the AA figure elements. But have to imagine the film itself will end up again somewhere. At least that is what I am telling myself!

Feels like a massively obvious move to put Muppetvision in the sunset showcase theater in a year or two and make a little new Muppet land with RnRC in that corner of the park. Going to very disappointing if it never reappears somewhere.

Can't wait to see more about the lands and attractions! I can tell there's a lot of detail and thought here.

A lot of people missed it. Feels like projects just don't do very well here on bluesky unfortunately.

With today marking the final day of EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival, I’ve been reflecting on what I’d love to see in the upcoming International Food & Wine Festival.

Thanks! Nope just doing this for fun for myself. I draw these maps in the procreate app on iPad.

More evidence about ATL being the worst: Security at Vancouver airport had an empty line tonight and we were though security and customs in 5 minutes. But we waited 30 minutes at Atlanta security last week.

On a trip to Seattle and did some quick Twin Peaks sightseeing on the side today.

Very glad I went to this park finally after wanting to visit forever. The Studio Tour made the visit worth it to me honestly. Not sure I'll need to rush back here in the future since I am closer to Orlando, but who knows what will happen based on what they add in the future.

The only other thing we did was Mario Kart. Not sure if this is a hot take but I liked it better when I pulled off the AR glasses and just watched the ride. I liked actually seeing the sets and the AR was a little disorienting.

Skipped everything else to focus on the Fan Fest experiences.

We focused on just the unique things from Universal Orlando and the priorities were Waterworld and the Studio Tour. Both A+, loved them, happy to see them in person after watching them on youtube years ago.

Secret Life of Pets was also very cute and great for the park. The Mummy was fun but rough.

I've got some Universal Hollywood thoughts from my first time visit. The big takeaways: I love movie making and movie history so I was thrilled to be at such a historic studio park. And also I wish the park had some more non thrill/media attractions that don't cause motion sickness.

I hope they keep doing it and expand/improve on this year's event. Don't think I'll be back every year since I'm on the east coast, but the right property might get me back just like how Back to the Future got me here this year. If BttF continues to be a part of it, I'll be back eventually.

Other fan fest comments: ride times were great, didn't try any food, HP fantastic beasts were cool and lightly attended enough to have those personal moments, didn't do anything with Nintendo or the Anime properties, and we spent 10 hours there from 2pm-midnight and did everything I wanted to do.

05.05.2025 16:09 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Wish I could have had some more personal moments with some of the characters, but I'm not good at the improv small talk, so I mostly just watched. Ultimately though it was incredible to be able to walk around Courthouse Square, so I loved the experience.

05.05.2025 16:09 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I did get great photos and some unique character moments. I got to be front row for Doc and Marty talking about time travel on the Courthouse steps, got a selfie with Marty, listened to Goldie workshop a campaign speech, saw Biff yell at people, signed the save the clock tower petition.

And the crowds for BttF are probably unavoidable, but every show scene in the square was mobbed and it was hard to follow them unless you got lucky by being in the right place at the right time. No idea how to solve that. I only saw about half of the moments while I was there for 2 and a half loops.

05.05.2025 16:09 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Crowds were the one problem, but really not that huge of a problem. I felt like for ST and DnD, they were pulsing to large of groups through each scene, even though the waits were only 5 minutes. Would have loved those with half the amount of people per room to really see what was happening better.

05.05.2025 16:09 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ok first, Fan Fest is awesome and I hope it keeps going and improving. I was there for BttF mostly but also did Star Trek and DnD. All impressively very high quality, and would love to see a couple more Fan Fest attractions like this added for future years to spread crowds better.
