TFW you're writing a new To-Do List, can't find your old To-Do List, come here to complain about this, and then spot your old To-Do List while you're typing this.

Thank you for your moral support, dear reader! I wouldn't have found my old To-Do List without you!

CORVID UPDATE:

The crows were, as always, very excited for their peanuts this morning! As was the horde of blue jays (which are corvids, too, and they have enchanting excited-to-eat songs)!

After everyone came by for their first peanuts, a Hello Crow hung around and said "H'llo! H'llo!"

This is the first published story in my Pearlhunter universe, and I'm super psyched that you finally get to meet its hero, Holly McLean!!! (It's also my second time publishing with 'After the Storm Magazine'!)

Finished 'Death of the Author' by Nnedi Okorafor today! Loved the varied narrative structure (interviews, narrative, book-within-a-book), the posthumanist robots, and the struggling to thrive despite physical limitations and family-imposed guilt. This novel fiercely defies & challenges expectations.

We're open for fiction submissions!

We publish unsettling bad time stories that straddle the horror, fantasy, and science fiction spectrum. But genre is made up so if you have a dark weird horrible story that could be a fit, send it in and let us worry about it.

No closing date, open indefinitely.

This is my first collaboration with Ramiro! I fell in love with this story when I read it in the anthology 'Latinoamรฉricรฆditada: No disponible en su regiรณn' (pub. Triada Ediciones)

It took 6 submissions over ~5 months to find a home for this translation, earning 2 personal rejections along the way.

The translations are: 1) "My Rainy Season Diary" by Mexican author Antonio A. Huelgas, published in Mar. 2025 in Merganser Magazine, 2) "Through the Crimson Forest" by Spanish author David Mancera, published in Mar. 2025 in the anthology Vivid Worlds from Slab Press, and 3) "The Arrendatario" by Spanish author Susana Calvo, published in Sep. 2025 in Salvage Magazine. My original story "Shining Star" was published in Neon Dystopia in Sep. 2025, and SFWA published my essay "HISTORY FILES: Preservation Guidance for Authors Planning to Donate Their Personal Papers to Archives" in Jan. 2025. There are clip-art flags representing each translated author's nationality, a clip art of a cup of art supplies in the bottom left corner of the image, and three semi-transparent clipart images of open books with ribbons scattered across the picture and list.

Sir Terry Pratchett is best understood as one of the most interesting, deeply ethical practical (I would say Pragmatist but I cede to actual experts) philosophers of the late 20th Century who just happened to work in deconstructed fantasy literature as his medium.
