It didn't used to be this way. Blue sky used to be alt text everywhere and non alt text images got no traction. But then the influx began and the newbies failed to learn the rules.
Alt text peeps. It's not that hard
And improves reach, is inclusive and adds context.

Librarians face censorship over LGBTQIA+ books - now is the time for allyship Being able to find LGBTQIA+ books easily, with adult support, is essential for our children’s health and empowerment.

Long story short, while we need support for these books in libraries, we'll always find the stories that reflect something of us, somewhere. (For me growing up, it was His Dark Materials and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde 😜)

Ireland has had "sELf iD" for 10 years now and not one single issue that the media, government and anti-trans movement predicted has come to pass. Not one.

If it works in Ireland why would it not work here? No one who opposes it can give a good answer, because the real answer is transphobia

This didn’t get as much traction as I hoped. But my other hope is that this will contribute to more awareness that silent back-pedalling isn’t good allyship. We need loud displays that cisgender people won’t stand for transphobia, in any space.

I’m a white trans masc with blue eyes, and curly light brown/auburn hair and beard. My hair’s greying gracefully and I have deep smile lines around my eyes. I wear a silky shirt with large pink flowers on dark blue background over a grey tee. Also have on an acrylic art necklace that looks like blue and white ocean waves, framed in a black circle pendant on a black chain.

Happy 3.5 years on T to me (as of last weekend - forever tired and playing catch up, but looking cute for good balance)
