Yeah, it’s hard to know. For me I’ve only ever started fantasizing about dating people when we were good friends already that the idea of dating them felt safe. I don’t think that’s “typical” but who knows

I will say that if anyone tells you “you can’t really be aro because if you were then you wouldn’t want romance” that’s stupid as hell. That’s like saying if you wish you could breathe underwater then you must have gills.

It’s rough and it’s so confusing! Especially since what we call romance looks a little bit different for everyone!

Yeah that sounds like me. I like the *idea* of dating a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean I want it for real. It’s worse when I’m really lonely because then I start fantasizing about dating and having sex with my friends (still not sure how I feel about sex except that there’s no real attraction)

I feel like if it were the latter you would still feel something for somebody, just recognize that it would be a bad idea to pursue it. But I’m not exactly an expert.
