Then I started working out 6 days a week and basically stopped playing them 😭

Then I slammed my face into UNI2 combo trials for three months until I could finally do a 5-1 route with one character and realized the truth: each game is just Different, and some of them you'll vibe with and some you won't, and some are harder to get into are easier, but the genre is rad.

Then I bought Strive and realized that motion inputs and combos are actually sick and cool, and thought I was finally A Fighting Game Player.

Then I bought SF6 and tried Xrd and BlazBlue again and thought, uh, actually maybe Strive is the only game that's easy enough for me to learn.

Then I bought Guilty Gear Isuka and realized that fighting games are garbage maybe?

Then I bought BlazBlue and realized that maybe they're just too hard.

Then I got into Yomi and decided they're maybe just too hard to get into on purpose, which was reinforced when I got into Fantasy Strike.

The real answer is that I saw Guilty Gear XX on an arcade cabinet at the university of Waterloo, saw Johnny, went "this is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life," spent $20 to $30 on it, bought it for the PS2, and spent hours mashing special moves against my best friend learning nothing. 10/10

Cardio felt rough today. I think my cardio fitness is improving - which is great - but also means that I have to work at higher resistance to get the same heart rate target, and it means my legs didn't stop burning until almost the end of the session...

Today's album was Abyss, by Unleash the Archers. Their previous album is a stone cold 10/10, and this one is a bit more varied in its tone, which made it a nice cardio listen. 'Faster Than Light' and 'The Wind That Shapes The Land' are incredible songs that I always come back to.
