ASOIAF is an amazing series trapped inside a mediocre outline. The Others are easily the least interesting part of the series, and yet, they're the first scene in E1, so we NEED to end with them. Then Kings Landing is the emotional ending, but how do you go from apocalypse stakes to a regular siege?
