If you haven't listened to any of Petty's guitarist Mike Campbell's work, the most recent album has several songs reminiscent of TP's sound. Mike isn't the singer Tom was, but the effort is solid.

I've just been listening to a couple of hours of MASTER BOOT RECORD, a fabulous artist that combines hard metal synth rock with classical music themes. To me, this is what #ProgRock presents, edgy rock music that is outside the norm.

I'll agree. Prog rock isn't only defined by long expanding themes within a song structure, it includes any rock form that goes beyond "mainstream" basics and finds inventive ways to present an often overused form. Kate Bush took pop rock to new vistas and intricacies outside the norm.

Granted, some get stuck in time. But some of us Boomers are digging the newer artists of Prog.

How did I miss this #ProgRock gem from 1968? If I would have heard Colesseum's "Valentyne Suite", particularly the "January Search..." portion, I would have gone nuts. Is 56 years later too late to find something? Naaah!

At the moment, I've started contributing much more heavily to food bank goods. Just actively buy store goods and take them by case loads to local food banks. It's small, but it does help. I'm looking for other ways to contribute as well so suggestions are welcome. It's not change the world stuff.

It's to the point I don't look at news for more than a glance. With that kind of dissociation, what is there to do? I'm not any kind of influencer, but I can act. I've decided to make an active effort to contribute in some area that I'll think will lose support with Trump.

Washington state in $100/yr, about a penny a mile if driving 10,000 miles a year. The corresponding gas tax is $0.49/gal or between one or two cents a mile, depending on gas efficiency. So it is comparable. We did get $1600 on a sales tax rebate, so that pays for 16 years of EV taxes!

Raspberries. Don't know why. Any other kind of berry is fine.

Like Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick?

I like the fact that I live on a property where if I were to throw a baseball, I can't hit any of my neighbors houses. I don't think I'm alone in that regard.

Well, I am a mini-van owner and bought an EV. Why? I was using the van too much to for one-person errands. Now, we barely use it except if we need to haul more than four people or need to move something big.

The battery may last longer than the car body/mechanical parts. Does that open the batteries to a secondary market as home battery use? Storage for solar? Interesting possibilities.

Future EVs: Every Electric Vehicle Coming Soon These EVs are in various stages from concept to production, and perhaps a few may never see the light of day.

Fascinating how many new EV's coming soon from actual vehicle manufacturers. Lots targeting Tesla's high end market. Expensive, but these cars with <4 sec 0-60 acceleration will appeal to many dragging their feet on it. Big mo' on EV's! www.caranddriver.com/news/g299943...

Three years ago, we had 3 regular ICE cars and bought about 1200 gallons of gas a year. Now we have two EV cars and a hybrid and use about 200 gallons of gas a year. What a change!

Where this could really pay off is in densely populated areas that are growing (India, Africa, etc) that haven't built the road infrastructure and use 2-cycle mopeds. Convincing them not to make the same mistake we made to expand is hard. It would pay for well off countries to fund small EV's there.

Tip of the cap to you. I live north of downtown Gig Harbor. A trip downtown and back that includes 500 feet of ascent is a workout in good weather.
