Exactly this. There's a certain clique of people who will never criticise the party no matter how much it fucks up, and will always seek to blame their loss on a political demographic they clearly have nothing but contemptuous, unabiding, seething hatred for, but want their vote.

As Keir Starmer once said, "if you lose an election in a democracy, it's because you deserved to lose".

If Labour lose the next election, it's because *they* failed to listen to their base and what the people want, not because, as always, the people failed the saintly always-right party.

Ultimately it doesn't matter, because I know no matter what criticism is levelled the response will just be "but here are some fig leafs they've done, what more do you want? be grateful".
