my w11 install was a custom iso that stripped out as much as possible without breaking the entire os, and it's generally been fine - but the trajectory of windows is absolutely 'I don't want to use this in the future'

frankly the only thing keeping me even dual booting it at that point is anticheat

I'm honestly kind of shocked at how good the Gauntlet mode is in the new #battlefield6 Redsec BR/Warzone clone

They take the Redsec BR map, slice it up into chunks, then put 8 full squads into 4 rounds of knockout objective modes. There's a bunch, and the majority are good fun.

I don't think call of duty or arc raiders care if they lose some players, but if a solo dev honestly discloses non generative usage (i.e. there's no art/music/voice/translation), but now journalists will skip their game instantly, they now have to weigh the price of honest disclosure

and if they used copilot for the code and didn't disclose it? you're playing an "AI generated" game

I dunno, this stuff is so pervasive it's in fucking notepad, and the word AI is badly overloaded

AI trash is getting pushed into apps everywhere, it requires more effort and time to opt out of it than not, and some percentage of devs attempting to be honest about disclosing AI usage will get the same block as cynical asset flip garbage

this is one of those "seems good at a glance" ideas that I'm not sure is actually a net good

AI disclosure is extremely vague, are you going to block an indie that AI upscaled some lowres textures at the same time as the game with generative AI art music and voice work?
