I realised that the famous data platform "Our World in Data" has now our data set of first records of alien species on their platform.

I use this platform quite a lot and I am very happy (and proud) to find our data set there as well 🤩

Very interesting meeting of the #CBD inter-liaison group of #invasive alien #species!

A small group but with representatives from very different organisations from sectors of eg trade, tourism, agriculture, biodiversity. Amazing to see how much is going on. But this needs to be coordinated!

First day of our @b-cubed.eu project meeting is over.

Quite a lot of new software products developed based on species occurrence cubes by @gbif.org. The cubes are used eg for SDMs, invasibility cubes and to calculate a set of indicators of biodiversity change.

Soon all online and as #R packages.

On my way to our annual project meeting of @b-cubed.eu in Leipzig.

Looking forward to discuss species occurrence cubes, indicators and case studies with a great Team of people.

But for now, I have to for the delayed train…

And soon, we will be seven people. The group is growing which is very exciting 🙂

Since last year, I am head of a research group, which I enjoy very much. Great people and great collaboration.

It is quite a hybrid collaboration, which works quite well. But it took around ten months that we manage to meet all in person. A historic moment! Let’s when this will happen again 😅
