Don't Buy Starbucks! At any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike!

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Will Alberta Kill Recall Laws Now That UCP MLAs Are at Risk? | The Tyee Legislation stripping teachers of their Charter rights has brought new challenges to the Smith government.

@djclimenhaga.bsky.social: It sure sounds as if Premier Smith’s UCP will soon rip a page from the book of Depression-era Social Credit premier William Aberhart and repeal the province’s recall legislation as soon as possible, now that it’s being used against UCP MLAs. #abpoli

The following cannot both be true
1. They lost seats because of the shutdown
2. He thinks that people blame Democrats for the shutdown.
If people blamed Democrats, why did Democrats not lose seats? He truly does live in an alternate reality.

I guess this is why the Liberals didn't need to negotiate on the budget with opposition parties.

If they don't have a strike fund I imagine they might not have a lot for a long drawn out fight when it comes to defying.

That one I'm not as concerned about. You can still build the bike lanes and just make car lanes narrower which will naturally result in lower speeds as studies show narrower lanes result in people being more cautious. It's a terrible law but there are work arounds.

Left column:

Under the RTA, all tenants have "security of tenure", which means
that tenants have a right to remain in their rental unit as long as they
follow the lease agreement and the RTA. Landlords cannot evict
tenants without a legally valid reason, and after a fixed-term lease
ends, the tenancy typically continues on a month-to-month basis.

Right column:

The government would consult on alternative options on lease agreement expiry that could allow landlords to control who occupies their units and for how long, allowing them to adjust tenancy arrangements based on market conditions, personal needs, or business strategies. This could add flexibility for some landlords in the approach to leases, potentially unlocking additional rental unit stock.

In particular, they want leases to no longer necessarily remain in effect indefinitely, so that landlords have more options for creating tenant turnover.

Ford is all talk and no solutions. We should allow Chinese EVs to be sold in Canada and required to be built here (and then unionize them).

There are a lot of beliefs that can be debated within the party, but if values are disregarded, what is the purpose of the NDP? The NDP support of unions is a purity test, should that be gone, or just those that protect marginalized communities? (which is often what purity test means)

I think everyone has a different understanding of what "purity tests" are so unless they define what that term means, there will be conflict. @heathermcpherson.bsky.social what is meant by purity test in this regard? Every party has to have a line somewhere, where should the NDP draw that line?

6 days ago Liberal MP Vince Gasparro smeared and ‘banned’ Kneecap from Canada (forcing them to cancel tour dates) just 3 days after meeting with an Israeli lobby group, using this bogus terrorism charge as reasoning.

Seems a public apology is in order.
