That's one thing that surprised me when I moved to France.
it's a 70/30 split on healthcare (if you are diagnosed with cancer etc, it's 100% free) so you get a top-up insurance to cover the 30% (€27/m for me) but it covers dental, hearing, and everything. Glasses? Dentures? Free, with the top up.

In every European country there is a social tax that covers healthcare. I'm in France, 70% is covered, with 30% voluntary top-up insurance. My monthly top-up is €27. That covers me to 100%. For everything. Dental, Hearing, Doctor.

My barn cat, Squeeky, came with the house. The previous owner just left her behind.
It took a year to gain her trust.
