I think the tariffs highlight the issue at hand. Trump supporters only exist because people need immediate and radical change. People need help and the economy doesn’t serve the working class. People can be turned onto socialist ideology in this moment, because capitalism has obviously failed…again.

My family always joked that he wasn’t real cuz nobody else ever saw him. Until one night my dog looked into the alley and started shrieking. Not barking - new noise. He was so scary my dog shrieked. My sibling and my dad ran to check on the dog and finally saw Big Larry, doing exactly the same thing

We get to the end of the alley and my mom’s white knuckling the steering wheel. I cut the tension by saying “that was fucking terrifying.” we get home and tell my family about it - they run outside to look into the alley and… he’s gone. We nicknamed him “Big Larry The Alley Ghost”

The whole alley is tense. It felt like a David Lynch nightmare except I’m living it. We go through another patch of dark and now we’re sharing his spotlight. His back is to the garage door, he’s facing us, and I swear to god he looked EXACTLY like the guy from The Hills Have Eyes. Only 7 feet tall.

Under his spotlight in this alley we start to see… This dude is *fucking gigantic*. His head is touching the top of his garage door. He’s in a baggy baby blue t-shirt and matching shorts. He isn’t checking his bins- he never was. He’s just looming there and swaying with the breeze.

…and start to see that the dude hasn’t moved. He’s also really tall and just standing by the bins. Oh well, we’re halfway down the alley and no room in the garage, so gotta keep going. We’ve had the windows down this whole time and don’t want to roll them up at this point cuz it would be rude.

They had changed the bulbs in our alley’s street lights, so each lamp was like a spotlight and then a stretch of darkness. We get a quarter into the alley and start to see someone in the distance. Probably just a neighbor checking their bins, no problem. Get another quarter down, check our bins…

Easily the most terrifying moment of my entire life. Midnight. Just got off of a deep clean night at work, mom’s driving me home, and we’re going through the alley to check on the bins. It was winter, but like 38°. Warmer than it should’ve been, still cold, but the defrost caused a weird haze
