Studying for comprehensive exams is a particular kind of miserable.

Successfully opened a conference presentation with an Eyes Wide Shut reference, so I guess you could say that things are going pretty well.

Made it to London!

Conference presentations:
1) Undergraduate: “I will read every word on this sheet of paper in a calm and steady way.”
2) Masters: “I will have bullet points in front of me to reference and help me stay on track.”
3) PhD: “What if I open with a joke?”

Cohen is next, so that should improve things.

There is a dog, and we are reading Nozick by the fire and eating Chinese noodle soup, and life is good.

Went to Boston. Saw Harvard. Found a bar where Good Will Hunting was filmed. Walked through some parks. Found another bar. It was wonderful.

I’ll be in Boston for a few days next week. Anything I should be sure to do/see/eat?

2) I work on literature as political theory in the 18th/20th centuries and gender.
3) I have a daughter, she’s 5 and is learning to read.
