For sure, I do like EB's battle system more than SSG, but it doesnt have the big picture stuff down as well as SSG, id say. It's also WAYYYY goofier somehow

Oh fuck yeah. Id recommend hitting up Emerald Beyond after SSG if youve still got the itch. Emerald Beyond gives you more options and is a little friendlier with making sure you dont get absolutely blasted by certain encounters, but enemies seems to stay neck-and-neck with you more

Lmao that's understandable. Im ride-or-die for SaGa, so i had to put myself through the grinder.

The other SaGa plats are MUCH easier, even though some (RS3, RS2 OG) definitely are investments, but mostly just time-based

Oh, the difficulty doesnt matter too much—it just affects how quickly the battle ranking and enemy scaling increases.

Basically, there are a series of superbosses, and if you beat those then subsequent playthroughs make the fights MUCH harder, culminating in a ridiculous version of the final boss

This was easily one of the hardest RPG platinums ive ever gotten. The superpowered version of the final boss and the second forms of the scarlet fiends were absolutely no joke

I didnt see The Wind Rises until last year and I fucking loved it. Gets a bit weirdly nationalistic at times, but it's so poignant. blending of the magical realism stuff really gets me, too.
