It's a homebrew campaign and setting of my own design, a fairly good amount of custom mobs and magic, but overall very vanilla otherwise

DnD 5e: this is an early-civilization setting, agriculture is a fairly recent development and many people still live nomadic and Hunter gatherer lifestyles. The campaign is following a group of adventures that uncovered a murderous cult that seems to have worked it's way into every area of the world

That depends, I think the writing alone over the long duration has enough chops to stand on it's own, I'd read it if it was a novel series

But if anime is difficult for you to watch for various reasons it may be not your cup of tea? It's been on air for 25 years, the animation quality changes a lot

I love that his too-many-swords thing happened because as a child he thought grabbing a ton of practice swords (way more than 3), would make him stronger and able to win a duel when he knew nothing about sword fighting... and he just sorta settled on 3 eventually

I could maybe dance around it and focus on individual characters or moments, and other surface level stuff, there's a ton to love about the series over the past 30 years it's been made (manga debuted in July 1997)
