This is one of the best parts of Bananza. Game that unabashedly loves and pays tribute to Rare and makes a final boss gauntlet that's the only boss fight that even puts up a challenge, the entire time literally yelling at you that it hates you and wants to destroy you as it refuses to stand down.

Fredrik stuff was just so... desperate feeling? Very little imagination to it beyond "we want K. Rool". Bananza speculation is way more fun because it definitely feels like something is going on with all the crocodile theming and the Rare nods, and Bananza actually has a clear story focus

Called shot, DK Bananza is a sequel to DKC2. It's themed around digging/mining, islands and land masses are shown sinking underground... Crocodile Isle sank under the sea. K. Rool found his island again and decided if his home is underground now, everyone's will be.
