A stunning morning here in Dunblane. Out for a short walk and some birding. Nothing noteworthy seen but who cares! #Birding #Scotland #Winter

I'll be honest I wasn't sure this Aerosmith/Yungblud EP would be up to much. I'm happy to be proved wrong! So good to hear Tyler back and bang in form. Great tunes and superb modern production. #RockRoyalty #ToxicTwins

I've got one of these, and they are absolutely fantastic! A complete game changer in terms of carting your scope and tripod around. Highly recommended. #BirdingGear πŸ‘

Thanks, and yes, very useful. We got WHD, Marbled Duck, Rk Coot and Black-headed Weaver at the pools at Bonanza Pools, which was a cracking little site.

Day two and we almost nailed it. Missed on the Bald Ibis but I added six lifers - Little Swift, White-headed Duck, Marbled Duck, Red-knobbed Coot, Black-headed Weaver, and Med Short-toed Lark. Fantastic day! #Birding #Spain #Andalucia

Well, I'm going to see Rush, in Arizona, next December! My oldest pal lives in Tucson and scored us tickets. We'll be combining it with birding, and maybe a drink or two. To say I'm excited, is an understatement! 😎🀘

The view of the Forth Estuary from the Fife Ness Bird Hide.

Had a very nice week off work with my wife. Spent some time in North Berwick and then Anstruther. Weather was oddly quiet but very pleasant. Avian highlights included a day count record of 31 Pomarine Skuas at Fife Ness, a Grey Phal, two Balearic Shears, a White-billed Diver and a Glossy Ibis. Braw!

Brilliant, Fraser! I was all geared up for a five hour trip to Yorkshire on Saturday, but it didn't show. Now, I might need to gear up for a five hour trip to the Highlands! What a bird to find! πŸ’₯

Tunnock's Snowball

Tunnock's Snowball

When I was at school (it was a while ago), you could not eat one of these in public. If you did, someone would definitely squash it - either before you could eat it, or while you were eating it. πŸ™„πŸ˜…

Been years since I had one. Delicious! #Snowball

I've seen them hunting pink feet a couple of times. Even saw one strike a goose hard, but fail to knock it out the sky once. Maybe this goose was exhausted and weakened after migrating?

Birding with Hearing Aids A startling proportion of the UK population suffers from hearing loss, with the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID) indicating that one in five adults are deaf, have hearing loss or suffer…

I wrote this short note on birding with hearing aids and thought I’d post the link here in case of interest/relevance to some birders out there
