My italian great grandparents went to a Lutheran church when they got here for the same reason and had my grandmother baptized Lutheran. She had terrible headaches as a child, so when a catholic priest was traveling by, they had her re-baptized because they worried the Lutheran baptism didn't take.

I had a related problem at my PT eval checking range of motion. They said move as far as you can, so I did. They said it was surprising given my issues that I could move so far without pain. I said oh, no it hurt a lot. They said most people stop moving when it hurts. Is that an option?

It takes a lot of energy being that cute. Frequent naps are warranted!

Some kids were jealous that we "got to skip class." They didn't realize that we were assigned EXTRA work (reading, etc) they would have hated and that we were craving. It's more exhausting to be bored than have extra work. Having time for one's thoughts to wander and obsess is not always healthy.

I was in an "enrichment" program for "gifted" kids in the 70s. My parents objected, but teachers argued that my needs weren't being met and they could force this because kids like me are "special needs" as well. Having a space where I wasn't ostracized for how I was saved me in so many ways.

I fall in love so easily. But alas! We are separated by time. Again. This happens to me a lot. But that is a face to invent time travel for.

I also have a door topper/bird/gargoyle/gravity defier. I had to put bird netting above the glass shower door on the bathroom because he'd also go up there. He does this every day going on years now. It's my fault for insisting on having doors.

Synchronicity...I had similar thoughts about my youngest in the middle of the night.

Perhaps they are infiltrating our society, waiting and...preparing....

This is a strange club to be in. My father and so many other relatives, they raised me to have the values I have and that I (naively) believe we still share. We seem to live in different realities. They don't believe the facts I tell them, and they tell me all sorts of things I know aren't real.

My brain immediately goes to wondering why they specify a focus on unmarried children and then gets horrified and worries that child marriage is a problem in Denmark....

Random idea: more people want hanklerfish than can get (or afford) them. What if some of us volunteer to have our hanklerfish travel to spend a month with other nerfighters (for a donation) who then send them on, and so on. We could also write up adventures from their travels for a digital p4a perk.

Wasn't Jonesy an orange cat? (Spoilers) I think when you survive the Nostromo when a bunch of trained, educated professionals don't, that makes you pretty smart. Maybe the bias is just jealousy.

As a cancer researcher, I don't find it *hard* not to be snarky. It's just that - where's the fun in that? There's no selection *against* being snarky in this career path, and when you work long hours 7 days a week, we need to make things fun. So there's maybe also a selection *for* snark.
