Mrs B and I decided
For a pub lunch we should go
But somehow finished up with
Most of the family in tow
Instead of the quiet tete-a-tete
We had planned
We had much more busy time
But still absolutely grand

(And much more expensive!)

Yesterday was lovely
But today, oh deary dear
I spent the afternoon
Traipsing round IKEA
But I didn’t do no moaning
Kept a smile upon my face
Even though it’s absolutely
Not my favourite place

(I’m a brave little soldier ain’t I?)

We popped into Birmingham
This morning, on the train
Mooched round the market, had some lunch
Then came back home again
We did nothing remarkable
Fabulous or clever
But we had a lovely day
Just mooching round togevver

To the gym this morning
Where I gave it all I could
Now I’m feeling pretty tingly
(But also pretty good)

This evening we are feeling
Quite relaxed and calm
Got no grandkids in the morning
So we’ve switched off the alarm

Watched the rugby this afternoon
Now my evening’s course is clear
I’m going to sit here quite quiet
And immerse myself in beer

It rained again, all morning
Then to make our lives complete
It rained again all afternoon
Only this time, mixed with sleet
#HappyDays

Took Mrs B for lunch today
A proper, full-on carvery
No messing round at all
No doing things by halvery

Superb!

I ain’t watched the Olympics much today
I really must admit
I’m afraid that I am getting
A bit fed up with it
I can’t seem to raise the interest
And if I may make so bold
I’d say Winter Olympics
Now just leaves me cold

A swimming sesh this morning
And I struck out in some style
And managed a PB -
Three quarters of a mile

Today I have been lazy
Unto the Nth degree
I’ve been watching the Olympics
All day on the T.V.
The day’s not been completely wasted though
I’ve learned a lot - in short
I’m now a complete expert
In every winter sport

Spent the afternoon
Watching rugby, steady boozing
Spending the evening
Feet up, gently snoozing

Watching the rugby, so yes!

Mrs B and I are out again
With our mates, for some grub
It’s a little Thai kitchen
In the back room of a pub
It’s tucked away quite cosy
It’s a tiny little space
But the food is bloody lovely
It’s our new favourite place

6 Nations on a Thursday!
I’m confused in many ways
Already I’m in weekend mode
Muddling up my days
I’m really not against it
That can’t be overstated
But I know that for the next few days
I’ll be discombobulated

Waiting in for a bloke
To get daughter’s washer fixed
Meant our morning’s plans
Got absolutely nixed
Still saw aged relation though
That was rather nice
No jobs, just tea and cake
(Just a little slice)

Youngest daughter rang
“Dad, I need some help,
I think
Our washing machine
Seems to be on the blink”
I popped round this morning,
As promised
And I looked
And said
“It appears to me
That it’s definitely fucked”

(Pump’s gone)

This afternoon, my meeting
Was cancelled unexpectedly
So I had a few hours spare
Which was completely fine by me

We’ve got a fair bit going on next week
So today’s been pretty steady
Some tidying and tatting
And getting ourselves ready
(Grandkids and aged relation
Some meetings and some stuff
Lots of bits and pieces
But nothing really tough)

It was very good, thank you - we had a very good evening!
