4/5 of us on our plan are disabled. Our claims are 250k to as much as 1M a year. No joke. One person has $1500 a week medication. They just don't understand (or care to understand)

The “what should poor people be allowed to eat” debate is infuriating.

The answer is simple.

They should be allowed to eat anything.

It’s no one’s business.

Ideally we would agree that food is a basic human right & it would be plentiful for all.

Until then, stop judging. Fed is best.

When times are tight my anxiety is OFF THE CHARTS. When things are decent to good, it's much better. Gee, I wonder why. It's almost as if money does indeed buy happiness. (or peace of mind anyway)

Like all the bills are getting paid on time right now - but its starting to be "minimums only" or a few dollars above the minimum, only to be left with a small amount left for groceries & gas and pretty much all the fun money is drying up; or gone, really. I've just been denying reality

We've been staying ahead of things, or so I thought ... sat down to pay some bills and realized my credit card debt is higher than I'd like or feel comfortable with and things are teetering over the edge into "this might be getting scary" - I'm not doing so well at the moment.

The same people who think buying junk food with SNAP benefits is “abusing the system” are fine with wealthy parents using vouchers to send their kids to private schools.

That, and someone telling him about the new nuclear crisis movie on Netflix. (I wish I was kidding about that part)

My husband works for an automaker & we have 3 now-adult disabled children and I am disabled myself. I don't know what we would have done without the UAW plans. I count myself very lucky and blessed. We pay about $60 a week for excellent coverage. This is why we need good universal healthcare for all

Maybe I'm just being irrational but I feel like it is something most providers - who are seeing patients with equal care access as a doctor - should know?

Saw a NP today for a problem unrelated to my neurological stuff. She very casually asks me if my cervical spinal stenosis was "all better" I'm thinking she meant my symptoms which are actually worse and we had JUST discussed that. Nope. She meant structurally. Um, it doesn't fix itself or grow back

I thought the *same* thing this morning when I read her column. We are in big trouble.

I was a SAHM & my kids are all grown in their 20s now, but I had the hardest time with BFing. First kid I went 9 months out of sheer guilt, but suffered postpartum depression bad. Next 2 kids were bottle fed & my depression was so much better. I hate the breast is best pressure put on moms.

Used to be my favorite afterschool snack back in the 80s.

100% agree :( and it terrifies me as a chronically ill person & mom. 2 of our 3 adult children carry a very rare disease only 25 people worldwide are known to have. They get the best care at Duke & other renowned hospitals. I worry for them greatly. Thanks for what you do. Keep fighting for us.

My husband works for a subsidiary of Mercedes in NC. We have CareHere (now Premise Health I think). The care is VERY limited. You can get basic meds like BP meds filled, get a yearly physical, get your flu shot. But extended care is limited and lacking. I don't trust it beyond very basics.

Yes! Our local food bank cannot accept fresh meat donations (canned only) from the public BUT it has an agreement with a local grocery chain to buy meat at a deep discount. A cash donation in this case goes much further AND their clients get something they really want! WIN WIN!

I agree there has to be more, but for some folks this is a safe first step in the right direction. Living in the red red rural south and seeing the folks around me turn out for No Kings is encouraging.

Im pushing 50 years old; never been to a protest or demonstration in my life. Im also a blue dot in a huge red sea. All of my parents/inlaws are MAGA, 1 of which is deeply radicalized. For me being able to go to an event at all is a bold leap in the right direction. Emotional safety to engage.

Ah yes. And then they'll say things like "Jesus knows my heart!" when you attempt to call them out on their BS behavior. Or my favorite, when my mom texts me long lists of all the charitable things she's done and says that she *will* see Jesus one day (implying I will not)

My husband‘s been on a GLP for two years and I have been on one for a year. We both made the switch to terzepitide and the side effects were less but not perfect. Sending you some hugs. 🫂
