It's not just dropped. It's lower to concerted action by government. I'm for planned immigration driven by fairness, humanity and economic need. The resources of the state need to be applied to social housing and tackling poverty.
Tax paid by migrants will pay for this . it's a win win.

Perhaps it's because FibDems are Tory enablers who'll say anything to anyone to get a vote and for whom principles are something they leave at home. Here in Manchester they talk about the need for social homes but campaign against them wherever they are proposed.

Don't agree. I think Labour is about creating a system of rules that isn't open to gaming and abuse. If a government can't control its borders is it actually a government at all?

I think the last GE and the recent by-election in Caerphilly showed the electorate can sometimes work it out and form their own alliance !

It would be an endorsement of Manchester Labour which would be a good lesson for Labour more generally. Economic success in the service of the people of the city based on strong labour values of inclusion and equality.

The Labour vote seems a good deal less soft than many people in the media who don't live there and have never been there seem to suggest ... Manchester Labour is a strong, successful ' brand'.
