Yuck. Essential Energy have also upgraded their storm tracker which used to be great for tracking lightning strikes but is now just a colourful mess.

I had to have a think about it after I finished, initially I felt the third act with POTUS was the weakest. They show us the same passage of time three times to hammer home the futility, which is accentuated by the lack of closure. The podcast line is naff but given the current prez it makes sense.

When updates go terribly wrong: on the left is the old essential energy storm tracker graphic, which perfectly conveyed how big electrical storms were (albeit restricted to southeast Australia). On the right the new graphic, which is an indecipherable mess.

Going for a big sleep in the tub. These bots have dominated my shelves since 2018-19, it's time to rotate them in favour of other things.

AHOD is strongest in its first act, where Bigelow extracts some good performances from her cast while ratcheting up the tension. By the time act 3 guides you through the same story, from a slightly different angle, the tension and terror is diminished, replaced by futility. Maybe that's the point.

Note to self: watch Starman. I started watching Vampires the other night, having watched Near Dark the night before, and I couldn't finish Vampires.

Imagine the effort it took that particular person/family to repay $20k on top of the cost of keeping themselves alive. Even the averaged figure of $5k is an insane amount.

Will the affected people be receiving interest on this? It sounds as though the whole department needs retraining in that particular process, along with the manual being rewritten so staff don't skip that crucial last step.

I am legitimately struggling to think what would warrant combustion power ten years from now, given the astronomical development of EV platforms in the last decade.

They'll still be spouting that kind of guff when third gen sodium battery vehicles breeze past them on the highway. Eventually the inevitable high prices at the pump will bring them over (they may not admit it though).

A Bearded dragon suns itself on the eucalypt lawn at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, Canberra. They get their name from the collection of spines on either side of their head - when threatened they can inflate their cheeks and flatten their torsos, causing their lateral spines to protrude even further.

This fantastic Bearded dragon had the eucalypt lawn all to itself.
