Not a long time ago (especially if you are a redwood tree), the giant redwoods of the forest moon Endor (Ewok village) were clearcut mere months after filming. These ancient trees were destroyed in an instant for the Empire's insidious logging operations.

After getting the precise cuts just right, jigsaw block printing is a really simple and satisfying way to print in multi-color.

One of the blocks the portrait is printed from inked up. The light is hitting the eyes of the carved portrait, the effect is quite spooky.

It's #portrait day here on #printpromptmonday - I made these self-portrait and favorite guy fan art stamps more than a few years ago, based on film photographs taken by our friend Learning.

Stopped at a thrift store to look for suitable cotton to print on, which there wasn't much. But I found the mustard yellow rotary phone of my dreams for 3 bucks. I will update you if it works.
