These arguments would be less disingenuous if Haidt + his followers put the same energy into pushing back against ed tech's hostile classroom takeover. Even the youngest learners are very literally trapped on corporate software, like IXL, for hours each week. This is equally as pernicious + harmful.

Also, those tools atrophied skills that I honestly don't find think are important to humanity. Like these LLMs are seemingly threatening skills that are actually important: the ability to communicate with other people, the ability to think critically, the ability to understand reality for oneself.

I am a mathematician in a film. I do math by hand on pieces of paper and sometimes on a white board or a black board, I walk around thinking deeply about math and I sometimes bump into stuff, and students say my classes are incomprehensible…. Wait a minute… 🤔
