Very much so, IMO, though I'm not an expert.

LLM seems to me like Hidden Markov fed steroid for years.

I do note that because my current keyboard will no longer 'save me' from typoes, I type slower.

But that has its own elegant benefit:
I now actually read what I type, oftentimes realizing a better way to state what I want to say.

Everyone should try living without intellectual crutches.

Analogously, that's also what relying too much on Ai to "help you code" will impact your programming skill.

Your brain is your 'intellectual muscle'; if you don't use it enough, it 'atrophies'...

So.

On a whim, I replaced my keyboard with one that doesn't do spell-checking.

To my surprise, after a week of familiarization, I found myself actually typing much more accurately than before!

It seems having a robotic assistant that nannies your typing is detrimental to your hard skill...

Think of awk as a switch/case structure.
Except that the match case can be a fancy expression not just a simple literal.

It's a statistics-based auto-complete.

Did you use a combination of positive (must-match) regex blocks with negative (must-not-match) regex blocks?

Why do people insist on writing a single-line regex when regex itself has, for decades, a feature enabling people to write the expression in a muliltiline way, and with comments to boot?

For simple regexes, sure a one-liner is okay.

But complex one-liner regexes = future foot-shotgun.
