I feel like there's a resurgence online or maybe my sister found a very specific TikTok black hole to go down.

There was even a whole kerfuffle about excluding people who swap gift packs that weren't nice enough.

Murdering someone for the 'offense' of trying to retrieve their brother's body is..beyond monstrous

and the horror is compounded by the risk of identifying it as such: The reporter "asked not to be named because Israel has killed at least 189 journalists in Gaza"

Silver has always been a poseur who accidentally hit the lottery with two election calls, parlayed that into a bestselling primer to Bayesian Theory for Dummies that fed his gambling addiction, and has basically gotten nothing right since.

He's mad that this is obvious.

US Migrant Raid Jolts South Korea, Stirs Investor Anxiety The immigration raid on a Georgia EV battery plant run by two South Korean firms has rattled Seoul, coming less than two weeks after President Lee Jae Myungโ€™s White House meeting with Donald Trump whe...

"It remains unclear what visas the workers held or whether those allowed them to be on the site."

475 workers detained, huge international incident, and the Trump admin can't even give a basic explanation for it.

The raid swept up 475 people, most of them South Korean citizens, agents said.

No Hyundai employees were arrested, the carmaker said. LG Energy Solution, the battery manufacturer, said 47 of its employees were detained.

A majority of the arrested South Korean workers were not direct employees of Hyundai or LG but were subcontractors, according to industry officials familiar with the project. The LG employees arrested were helping oversee the factoryโ€™s construction, and had arrived in the United States with visas or under a visa waiver program, the officials said.

Steven Schrank, a special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Georgia, said during a news conference that some U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents were also detained in the raid and would be released.

Still trying to understand the Hyundai ICE raid. Supposedly a months-long investigation that... picked up people here on visas, permanent residents, and U.S. citizens?

I also haven't seen anyone charged under 8 USC ยง1324a for hiring undocumented employees.

"Just the other day, I was in the audience at Lincoln Center when Justice Amy Coney Barrett said, while promoting a new book, that she doesn't think the United States is in a constitutional crisis," Farias told us. "Today, the Supreme Court, without offering a single line of reasoning, more or less declared that the Fourth Amendment, which protects everyone from unreasonable searches and seizures, nonetheless allows the Trump Administration to arrest and detain anyone who looks Latino, citizen or not, on account of the language that they speak or the kind of jobs they do. The ruling putatively covers the Los Angeles area, but the effect could be national," he continued.

The New Yorker asked me โ€œhow badโ€ todayโ€™s Supreme Court ruling was. I boiled it down to one paragraph:

I feel like my country has all but conceded Texas to being the GOPโ€™s literal testing grounds for gauging how much fascism the American people will tolerate & how best โ€œlegallyโ€ to do lawfare. And if I say anything about that I get 10 people telling me to move & 5 telling me thatโ€™s what I voted for.

When I see people online, even in jest, suggest that people living in Republican-controlled states should be abandoned because of their politicians, I feel a deep heartache. New York CREATED Donald Trump and none of yโ€™all are ever talk about it the way you disparage Alabama or Mississippi.
