My brother is so enmeshed with my mother that sometimes it seems like they're the same person. I don't think sibling relationships can really survive this kind of narcissistic abuse. It's tragic. And ironic--one person's frustrated attempts at connection leads to fragmentation within the family.

I learned this very well after returning from a psychedelic retreat in Mexico. Healing sometimes involves recalibrating imbalanced or abusive relationships. Sometimes they don’t survive.

This is what I learned. Healing showed me that I had not been protecting myself. I had no choice but to start.

Taking responsibility for your own pain is part of growing up. Those who never learn to do that, caught up in a cycle of blame, make really crappy parents.

Today's tarot message: in the face of overwhelming change, we will have to rely on our inner strength, which is much greater than we realize. We can and will get through this rough period. There is a path forward, even though it may not seem that way. Positive forces will prevail. #tarot

My mother rewrites the past so that she doesn’t have to take responsibility for all the times she failed to nurture or protect.

The world is working toward a new perspective on reality, a more love-based view of ourselves. Surrender to the unfolding, embrace the new world that is coming into view by letting go of what was, letting go of control. Like the fool, we must be willing to renew ourselves and embrace the unknown.

Absolutely nothing is sacred aside from whatever protects and advances the interests of their fragile egos. They believe in nothing other than control.

I believe that the two worlds overlap one another right now—one is dying and one is being born. Hence the craziness.

In your journey from a state of depression and isolation toward more fulfillment, don't forget to celebrate the amazing progress you've made along the way. A cycle is ending. It's time to integrate all your past selves into the beautiful whole that is you. #tarot

Another message about the balance of resources and power. A new approach is trying to be born. Pages symbolize new paths. What do we want the future to look like? How will we bring things into balance? The world needs a fresh new vision. Imagination and bringing dreams to life become very important.

Maybe it’s time to rethink what being safe means. Are any of us safe if some are not? Does my safety come at the expense of someone else’s? Can we really ever be guaranteed protection in this world?

Interesting one today. In order to stand up to those who hoard wealth and block change, we must examine our own relationship to giving & receiving. The ultimate subversive action in an oligarchy is to modify our own behavior. A sharing economy must start from the ground up. #tarot

Queen of Cups + 5 of Swords (situation cards), The Hermit (guidance card). For those of us who have endured betrayal or abuse at the hands of our mothers, going inward to gain a greater understanding of our experience helps others. Seeking to make sense of your own pain helps others do the same.

It will never help to call out his hypocrisy. It's like shouting into the wind. He is exactly what he appears to be--a sociopath rapist with zero empathy, no morality, no humanity. His actions should not surprise anyone. How is anyone surprised? After so many years of this?

I think it's interesting that the establishment continues to take him seriously and then clutches their pearls when he says something totally unhinged. There is no presidency. He is not a "president". It's gone. It's over.

When I finally went no contact with my mother, I wept with exhaustion. I was so tired.

He doesn’t give a shit whether anyone is counting on him. The man has no humanity. How can anyone not see that?

Thanks for this. Needed to hear it. Finishing up a memoir about healing from childhood trauma with the help of psilocybin and DMT. Only a 250 page book but these projects are NOT easy. Appreciate the encouraging words.
