New home construction drops in October | CBC News The annual pace of housing starts, also known as new home construction, fell 17 per cent in October compared with September, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. said on Tuesday.

The housing starts in Ontario and British Columbia dropped because both markets are/were flooded with "investment" builds, not actual housing builds.
Nobody wants to live in them.
Those investors are all losing money.
That is what happens in a "free market".
