trimet order page for a holiday sweater with a green body and red sleeves. the front has a type 6 max train next to two buses over a graphic of a tilikum crossing
good news folks I think trimet is cooking with the swag this year

Clearly TriMet has something in mind if their Forward Together 2.0 Teal Line is any indication.

Gateway would be the main issue and would require a rework but aside from that the rest of the system should be able to handle it. Iβm just spitballing because I know thereβs no money to rework Gateway, but it would be a project that has the ability to majorly improve the entire system.
27.10.2025 03:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Sure thereβd be a forced transfer at Gateway for people looking to head into Portland from PDX or Clackamas, but I feel like doubling the frequency systemwide would be worth it.
27.10.2025 00:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Yβknow if TriMet ran the green and red lines as a single through-running east side line you could actually free up capacity on the system for 7 1/2 minute headways everywhere.
27.10.2025 00:46 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Our bus and rail system have good bones and with a handful of solid improvement projects it could be doing even better than it was pre-COVID. But instead the state is throwing more money at ODOT for their $10s of billions worth of freeway projects.
27.10.2025 00:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Dallas still sucks, I hate that place and Portland will always be better, but itβs very sad to see the state let TriMet face a slow death through stagnation and service cuts. We could be doing so much better.
27.10.2025 00:20 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Kinda mad that Dallas gets a new rail line after I move away yet here in Portland (supposedly a βgood transit cityβ) nothing for over a decade now.

It really weighs on a person to narrowly miss watching someone die right in front of them. Yet here I am having those close calls every day because people are too impatient to just cross where theyβre supposed to or at least see my train and wait for me to pass.
20.10.2025 02:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I am begging people to stop crossing the chains on Interstate. Every day someone almost gets themselves killed doing it and Iβm so tired of having close calls like that.

frankly i don't give a fuck what the owner of two car washes thinks would be best for the future of 82nd avenue. it's not his avenue and he can pound sand

Colorado's Bustang system is perhaps the best model for a western state bus system. Oregon and Washington should look at it as a model. The system has been incredibly successful because service drives ridership!
If Oregon funded POINT at the same per-capita rate it'd cost us ~$48million a year.

PBOT really couldnβt even give us parking protected bike lanes?
13.12.2024 02:09 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Looks like if you remove the bike lane buffers it allows enough space to make the road 4 general purpose lanes. I think WashCo might be trying to sneak in some βfuture proofingβ in case they need to βfix trafficβ at some point.

I feel like an REI or other outdoor store would work well there since a lot of people visit here for outdoorsy stuff. Lots of potential business with one of those next to the airport.
