I'm upbeat about EV sales. But... The average car is now older (by about 16%) than in 2019. There are 33 million cars in the fleet and WHEN we are selling 100% as EVs IF we carry on with current sales, that would replace 2 million a year. Topping the list of journeys people would find hard without a car are orbital ones:

β€œRadial journeys in and out of the city centre are easy. Anything vaguely circumferential is impossible unless you go into the city and out again.”
