My personal experience of these gadgets, not very recent though, was that bluetooth was fine. It's very low data volumes, it's not constant. Making sure your phone has wifi or data in the space where the market is being held was more of a gamble.

What's your concern about bluetooth?

I have two repaired E Class LED tail lights in my workshop in case I get another failure. They weren't easy to repair but it wasn't unenjoyable. I plugged them in and got no errors so up on a shelf they go.
