Wedding’s Amtsgericht (district courthouse) is an unexpected treat along the rather unsexy Pankstraße. Built in neo-gothic style between 1901 and 1906 it has a vaguely palatial appearance that’s partly influenced by the Albrecht Castle in Meissen.

Aschinger was a chain of restaurants in Berlin, founded by August Aschinger and his brother Karl. The firm's own baker produced bread rolls that were served without cost with each meal. These free rolls, the low costs on general and brisk service endeared Aschinger to generations of Berliners.

Nikolaikirchgasse in 1885. So-called as it used to lead up to Nikolaikirchplatz and the church. Destroyed in 1899, along with the houses between Nikolaikirchplatz, Spandauer Straße and Eiergasse. #Berlin
